The City of Adelaide
The banks feature walking and cycling paths, in fact the Torrens River has a
dedicated cycle and walking track that makes it possible to ride or walk from
the North Eastern Suburbs all the way to Henley Beach.
Entertainment in Adelaide
Adelaide in March is a month of great entertainment as it was host to "The
Adelaide Festival of Arts" and "The Adelaide Fringe Festival" not to mention
Womadelaide. There is also some racing car from the 18th to the 22nd of March in
the form of "The Clipsal 500", a four day touring car race event, featuring a
500 kilometre race for modified fire belching V8 production cars around the
streets and parklands of Adelaide on the world’s best street circuit.
Transportation
A free bus service operates around an Adelaide city loop with bus stops in
Victoria
Square, King William Street, and North Terrace. There is also a free Adelaide
Connector Bus Service run by the Adelaide City Council 7 days a week that
completes a loop out to North Adelaide every 30 minutes during the day. It
includes Melbourne Street, and O'Connell Street.
You can use the Adelaide Connector bus to get to popular tourist attractions
like the Adelaide Zoo.
Relaxation
There are over 150 food and produce shops and many stalls at the very
comprehensive Adelaide Central Market. It is located in Gouger Street west of
Victoria Square.
The extensive Adelaide Botanical Gardens which include the International Rose
Garden are located at the eastern end of North Terrace. Long term car parking is
available on Hackney Road which is at the eastern end of North Terrace. In
Summer Adelaide's Botanic Gardens have outdoor movie nights, ideal for families
that start with some Jazz music then the movie.
Weather
Long periods of continuous rainfall in Adelaide are rare. Temperatures range
from a mean maximum of 30 degrees Celsius in January to an average of 15 degrees
C in July.
Summer sees long sunny warm to hot days with mild nights.
